Continuing our epic series on the US Founding Fathers, this time we talk about George Washington and Alexander Hamilton, two good friends who had very different views about religion and politics. Also, a few skunk dicks.

Well it’s that time again, time for our semiannual podcast. This time it’s on the Founding Fathers, and to provide some background, we give a brief overview of the Enlightenment as well. Need some ammo against Christians who portray the founders of the US government as evangelicals? Ever been told that the US is a “Christian nation?”

Well, that’s all true, unfortunately. The Christians hit the nail on the head yet again.

Whew, that took a while. In episode 40 we finish our scholarly study of the book of Acts, covering chapters 10-28 which is basically a lot of boring stuff about Paul. In this long-time-in-coming new episode, we talk about Luke: Part II, also known as Acts, or sometimes, the Acts of the Apostles. Crazy stuff abounds, people get healed by shadows, thousands of people convert after a single sermon, tongues are spoken in, and people’s heads catch on fire or something. It’s a little hard to swallow.

That mythos, apparently, involves some suspicious lap-sitting, our own gay penguin, and lots of inappropriate scenes involving children.

Yep, sounds like Santa to me.
